The Goa State Commission for Protection of Child Rights organised a Christmas Programme for children from the Kathkari Tribe at Virnoda, Pernem. The Chotanagpur Youth Group, under the leadership of Fr. Michael Periera, SVD, conducted activities to encourage children to display their dancing, arts, and other talents, giving them a platform to be creative and come out of their fear by displaying their talents.
Over the past few months, the Commission has been at the forefront of engaging with issues concerning children in the area, such as malnutrition, delayed birth registration, access to food security, and health education in a sustained manner. To promote positive mental health among underprivileged children at Virnoda, this event was held to spread more smiles and make a difference in fostering good mental health during the holiday season.
