Goa CM expresses regrets over ‘criminal migrants’ remark, claims his Konkani was misunderstood

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant clarified his previous statement regarding migrant workers from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh being involved in criminal activities in the state, reports ANI.

He said that his remarks were made in the context of the necessity of labour cards to identify criminals if they were labourers.

He also mentioned that his words were twisted by some political leaders.

A JDU worker named Manish Kumar filed a complaint against Sawant in Patna, Bihar, accusing him of spreading fake nationalism.

Sawant had made the controversial statement on Labourer’s Day while attending a public function in Goa.
