We Goans rejoice when Indian-origin Rishi Sonak becomes PM of the UK & Goan-origin Suella Braverman is back as Home Secretary when they are not even Indian citizens or born in India. In the same breath, we Goans vehemently oppose our own Indians, if he/she is not born in Goa but serving Goa for one or more generations, and enters Goa’s political arena, from Panchayat to Assembly. What is true? Our love for non-Indian foreigners, or our hate for our own Indian “non-Goans”?
