“Goa at this moment needs a Padyatra for Mhadei on the lines of Bharat Jodo Yatra of Rahul Gandhi”, opines Datta Damodar Naik, a thinker, writer and leading member of Dakshinayan.

He was speaking at Jammu, after participating in Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra.

A six-member delegation of Dakshinayan Goa joined the Bharat Jodo Yatra at Rajbagh near Jammu and walked with Rahul Gandhi yesterday.

Datta Naik led the group including Raju Nayak, Mohandas Lolienkar, Dilip Borkar, Dilip Prabhudesai and Satyendra Sonar.

Despite the chill and drizzle on the day, the yatra continued with great fervour through enthusiastic crowds lining both sides of the highway. Rahul Gandhi was very receptive during his discussion with the Dakshinayan members, stated a press note released by Dakhsinayan.

The delegation also met Kanhaiya Kumar, Digvijay Singh, Jairam Ramesh & other leaders during the day.

Speaking about the Yatra Datta Naik said, “Rahul Gandhi has clearly touched the hearts of people with this unique programme which is gaining ground with each passing day. The Bharat Jodo Yatra’s ‘Nafrat Chhoddo Bharat Jodo’ slogan has awakened the nation’s consciousness to the hatred being instilled into our society by communal forces. It is obvious that the success of the Bharat Jodo Yatra will translate into a victory for democracy and secularism with Rahul Gandhi as the leader of this transition”.

Former president of Goa Congress Girish Chodankar used tweeter to express his happiness over Dakshinayan members travelling all the to Jammu from Goa to join the Yatra.

He expressed satisfaction that large numbers of intellectuals, thinkers, writers, and activists from all over India are joining the Yatra.
