Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant inaugurated the State level Seminar on National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 organized by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) at Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Sankhali today.

Present on the occasion were Shri G. Mendes, Principal of Government College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Sankhali; Shri Shailesh Zingde, Director of Education; Shri Gopal Pradhan, Associate Professor, SCERT and Shri Nagraj Honnekiri.

Addressing the stakeholders, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said the new NEP is based on four pillars which are Access, Equity, Quality, and Accountability and sought cooperation from all for the successful implementation of the National Education Policy in the State.

Underscoring the role of the government in implementing various initiatives in the state of Goa, the Chief Minister said, the Government has implemented several new educational policies aimed at further improving the education system in the State.

The Chief Minister said, The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is a comprehensive policy framework that aims to reform and revitalize the education system in India. He appealed to the stakeholders to provide constructive suggestions and feedback to further strengthen the policy. Implementation of this policy is a combined effort of all stakeholders in the education sector, he added.

Earlier, Shri Nagraj Honekeri welcomed the guests. Shri Gopal Pradhan proposed a vote of thanks and Shri Subhash Jan compèred the function.

A day-long State Level Seminar on National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 was organized by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT). The seminar was especially for the Heads of Government and Government Aided Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools and the Chairman/Manager of Government Aided Secondary and Higher Secondary Schools.
