After over two decades, goanews.com, Goa’s first news website started in 1999, has been relaunched with new features and making it user-friendly.
It was relaunched at the hands of Avani Dinesh Sawant, a nine-year old girl studying in Std IV in Valpoi, Sattari.
In a live telecast held on the auspicious occasion of the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence, Gopinath Gawas, headmaster of Swami Vivekanand High School at Keri, Sattari introduced Avani.
He told the audience why the website is being launched at the hands of the little girl and how she is the hope of the new generation that would build India in future.

Later, writer and activist Naman Sawant Dhavaskar, mother of Avani, also spoke.
Sandesh Prabhudesai, editor of goanews.com, said goanews.com would now consist of Videos & Audios, besides News Analysis as well as frank Opinions expressed fearlessly by veterans from different fields of Goa.
goanews.com has been redesigned by Team Inertia.
