India’s renowned storyteller, lyricist, and journalist Neelesh Misra will release the Goa special issue ‘Known and Unknown Goa’, published by Pune-based ‘Sadhana’ Weekly, on the eve of Goa Liberation Day in Margao.
The 100-page colour magazine features 20 articles by experts on various aspects, most of which are not known to the outside world, but Goa is known to them only as a beach tourist destination.
On this occasion, Sadhana Prakashan, Pune, will also release a new edition of 100-year-old ‘Nivedan’, the autobiography of Dharmanand Kosambi, a renowned 20th-century Buddhist scholar of Goan origin, marking his 150th birth anniversary.
The book will be released by Pranav Azrenkar, a noted Buddhist scholar from Goa.

The event will take place on Thursday, 18 December, at 5:00 pm at the Fomento Amphitheatre, Gomant Vidya Niketan, Margao.

Mr. Misra will share insights into the factors that inspired him to settle in Goa, while Mr. Azrenkar will speak on the contemporary relevance of Buddhist philosophy.
The special issue on Goa features contributions from prominent personalities, including Adv. Uday Bhembre, Jnanpith awardee Damodar Mauzo, author Bhanu Kale, Janardan Verlekar, Datta Damodar Naik, Dr. Andre Rafael Fernandes, Adv. Cleofato Almeida Coutinho, ‘Loksatta’ editor Girish Kuber, Mohandas Lolayekar, Dr. Subodh Kerkar, ‘Plant Man’ Miguel Braganza, Sandesh Prabhudesai, folklore researcher Dr. Jayanti Naik, Adv. Albertina Almeida, Dr. Madhu Ghodkirekar, Dr. Sangeeta Sonak, filmmaker Laxmikant Shetgaonkar, Dr. Shakuntala Bharne, Dr. Prachi Prabhu, and young hotelier Carlos Noel da Souza.
Vinod Shirsath, Editor of ‘Sadhana’; Coordinator Datta Damodar Naik; Guest Editor Sandesh Prabhudesai; and Editorial Assistant Kuldeep Kamat will also grace the occasion.
