Tempo traveller driver arrested for assaulting tourist

On Monday, police reported that a young girl who had come to Goa on a holiday was allegedly raped by the driver of a tempo traveller. The accused has been arrested and identified as Chandrashekar, a resident of Goa. The incident has left the local authorities shaken, and they are doing their best to ensure the safety of tourists in the area.

Nidhin Valsan, the Superintendent of Police (SP) in North Goa, reported that the victim was part of a group of 10-14 young people who had come to Goa for a holiday. All the tourists had hired tempo travellers to tour the coastal state. According to police, the driver of the tempo traveller sexually assaulted the victim.

Upon receiving the complaint, an FIR was lodged under Section 376 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) in both the Women’s Police Station and Panaji Police Station. Superintendent of Police (SP) Nidhin Valsan also announced the formation of a special team by the Women’s Police Station and Panaji Police Station to investigate the case. The team was able to locate and arrest the accused in a short amount of time.
