CC Altinho from Mhapsa defeated Maruti SC from Margao by 90 runs and in the morning match and in the afternoon match Paramount SC from Vasco scored a facile victory over Sportsweek CC from Margao by 10 wickets to enter the quarter-finals of the Chandrakant Karapurkar Trophy tournament organised by Sportsweek CC here at the KRC ground Margao.
Morning – Toss won by Maruti SC and elected to field. CC Altinho raced to 96 for 1 in 10 overs and finished at 183 for 4 in 20 overs. Vishvajit Phadte (72) and Dishank Misquin (39) scored briskly for Altinho. Mihir Audi captured 2/25 for Maruti. Maruti collapsed for 94 in 18 overs with only Manish (44 not out putting up some fight. Yogesh Barde took 3 for 25 and Namesh Kankonkar 2/22.
Afternoon – In the second match Paramount from Vasco crushed Sportsweek CC by 10 wickets, Batting first after winning the toss, Sportsweek were all out for 38 in 13 overs due to sharp bowling by Unnikrishnan 3 for 2, Shivank Desai 3 for 3 and Touhid Dadibai 2 for 4.
Paramount surpassed the total in 3.2 overs with Kushal Vidva scoring 30 in 13 balls. January 26 – M- Young stars of Moula vs Iqbal XI Aft –Rudreshwar Y Sangh Vs MCC.
