Why is Speaker Ramesh Tawadkar putting Goa’s hi-tech Assembly into reverse gear by not allowing past information beyond 5 years? On the contrary, he should direct the Govt of Goa to digitise crucial info from all Govt Departments & update its websites. The planning & Statistics Dept should be told to train all Departments on how to maintain records. Dynamic IT Minister Rohan Khaunte should take the initiative to make Govt Departments hi-tech, like the Goa Assembly. The CM of Goa should make financial provisions and set an example before the country. This decision of the Speaker not only goes against the basic principles of the Right to Information but also displays an attitude of falling prey to the lethargic administrative machinery & bureaucracy of Govt of Goa.
