Govt alerts Goans over rising Covid19 and Influenza cases

Looks like Covid19 is getting active once again, and also Influenza – H3N2 – is entering the state of Goa. 

With 109 active Covid19 cases right now, new 17 cases were reported to have been detected today.

In addition, there are two H3N2 cases, that are doing well, says the Directorate of Health Services.

In this background and with also the rise in Covid19 and H3N2 cases across India, the DHS has appealed to the people to start taking all the necessary precautions, as per the Health Ministry guidelines. 

Guidelines to follow:

  • Observe good personal hygiene; 
  • Practice frequent hand washing with soap; 
  • Follow respiratory etiquettes – cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing as far as possible try to cough in your elbow; 
  • Avoid close contact with people who are unwell or showing symptoms of illness, such as cough, runny nose etc.; 
  • Wear a mask if you have respiratory symptoms such as cough or runny nose; 
  • Wear a mask in crowded places; 
  • School-going children to be at home when unwell and to consult a doctor; 
  • People with Comorbidity and the elderly are to contact the nearest Health Centre on having flu-like symptoms.
  • Don’t spit in public; 
  • Don’t take medicine without consulting your doctor
